Mummy & Daddy's 10 Year Wedding Anniversary
Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of Mummy and Daddy getting married, so we decided to take an overnight trip. I had been wanting to ride the big comfortable train that runs to Masterton ever since we managed to score a cheap ride on it from Petone to Wellington once. So we decided to ride the train and stay somewhere in Masterton.
When we arrived by train yesterday, we rented a car to help us get around and then went to check in to our hotel in Solway. Unfortunately the weather was not great - the sky was grey when we decided to head south to look at the Paua Museum and then go to the swing bridge that is a very long bridge suspended over a river. Well once we got there, after going along a very long, narrow, winding road, we found the river almost flooding (we had to drive through the river at one point) and fast running. We parked and walked to the bridge. Just as we started to cross the bridge it started to rain quite heavily and the wind made the rain quite cold. So once we were half-way across the bridge - i.e. to the middle of the river - we decided to turn back and run to the car. We went back to the hotel and decided to have dinner at Cobb & Co which is a restaurant located next door. I liked that because they had an indoor playground a bit like at McDonald's so after eating my dinner I went and played there a long time. Eventually Daddy came and said it was time to go but I wasn't tired and wanted to stay. I played a little bit more and then I did start to get tired, and there were no other kids playing there anymore, so I agreed to go back to the hotel and we all went to sleep really fast!!
Today turned out to be a very nice sunny day!! So we planned to go to Puzzlewood and have a look in Masterton before catching the train back to Wellington.

These pictures are from Puzzlewood. There were lots of puzzles that we could do indoors, and some games outside. We also went through a 'haunted house' where there were bright blue skeletons hanging on the walls and occasionally some of them made screaming sounds! Mummy and Daddy were very surprised that I didn't get scared in there, but I don't know why ... I'm never scared when I am with them because I know they look after me.
Just before we left, Mummy and Daddy suddenly realized I didn't have my glasses on although I did when we went into the Puzzlewood. So they spent a long time looking for them. They asked me many times where I had put them but I couldn't remember. Eventually, they had almost given up when Mummy found them on the table near the shop. I must've put them down there right at the beginning, before going through to do the indoor puzzles!!
So after that drama we went to Masterton and had some lunch at a bakery, and had a little look around before returning the rental car.
On the train going home, Daddy and I made some finger puppets and the puppets had a squeaky-voiced conversation.
