Meiji Jingu Shrine

I went with Mummy and Daddy to Meiji Jingu shrine in Harajuku today. After bypassing lots of weird kids wearing even more weird clothes, we went down a long road to the entrance of the shrine. Here we wash our hands to purify ourselves before entering the sacred area where Emperor Meiji and Empress Skoken are enshrined. We then proceed through this huge Torii gate ...... to the inner part of the shrine ...

... and at the inner-most part (where photos are forbidden) we throw a 5 yen coin and say a prayer. I enjoyed the visit, but it was a long walk for someone with such little legs!

Yama, Pooh-san, and Nene-chan

We went to visit Yama, Pooh-san, and their cute daughter Nene-chan. After talking for a while, we went to the Karaoke room and had a go at singing. Well, I'm still not great at the talking thing, so I'm not quite up to the singing thing yet. We all had a good time though, except when daddy was singing (if you can call it that). On the way out we decided to pose for a few photos ... I'm not good at doing the two fingers "peace" yet, but I am good at sticking my hand in my mouth, so I did that.

Takenori & Hye-Yeung

We went to Ikspiari near Disneyland and later we met Takenori and Hye-Yeung. I really like them - they are funny! The trains suddenly stopped working bacuse of the weather so we had to find an alternative way home, which was a bit difficult. Got there eventually though!

Nao-chan

I went out with Daddy to meet Nao-chan and EZ-chan and we had lunch at this family restaurant in Tsudanuma. Nao-chan kept doing this funny thing with two fingers so I tried to copy her.

Ueno Zoo

Today I went to the zoo in Ueno with Mummy, Daddy, Ojiichan and Obaachan. I didn't have any idea what to expect ... I have never seen big animals like these before! I wanted to Ojiichan's hand all the way from the carpark to the zoo.

The first place we stopped was at the elephants. They are BIG! And SMELLY!!

Probably the only opportunity in my life to be eye-to-eye with a lion...
Then we saw the monkeys, which I really like, except when they scream.
This gorilla must think he is at the Onsen (hot spring).I tried to copy the way the monkeys sit, but I found it squashed my big tummy so was quite uncomfortable.
We were shocked to find many of the big animals in cages INSIDE!

Like this panda, who seemed very depressed and just lay there, refusing to look at us.

And this hippo!!
And believe it or not, a rhino!!

An ostrich ...

And you would never guess .... some GIRAFFES!!! Inside!!

The animals outside seemed much happier, like these flamingoes.

And the elephants were happy since they had friends to play with.

I really liked the black bears.

The tiger was happy ...

And the lions spent a lot of their time sitting down in the sun like this ...

Or pacing around like this trying to work out how to get out to EAT US!!

We went to Yokohama today to meet Mummy's good friend Tomoe and her family. We went to an art gallery where Matsu, who is only seven, has some of her paintings on display!!

Well by the end of the day I was pretty tired and so I decided to go to sleep on the long train ride home from Yokohama.
